Happy Halloween all you ghoulish people.

I’m a pretty big fan of Maira Kalman’s illustration style. Although I’ve only read a few things by Michael Pollan, I think he’s a genius. I’m quite happy to see the combination of there talents working together in Food Rules: An Eater’s Manual

I needed a reminder for my desktop that not over think it. Going to rework the layout and get it printer for the office.
Had a really fun time drawing the flaming head guy. Built everything in illustrator, then added finer details in photoshop.

The illustration bit of a lettering project/print I’m working on. Still fine tuning the letters, will post the final arrangement soon.  Illustrator is the greatest.

I really love these beer labels designed by Kurtis Beavers for the Cutters Brewing Co. Excellent use of type and illustration. This style is super hot right now, long live the industrial revolution.

Looking forward to collaborating on a label for one of Robin Leblanc’s home brews.  I suggest you go check out her beer blog The Thirsty Wench

Book Covers by Jim Tierney

Interesting to see on his site and blog all the covers that don’t get accepted, its one of the great shames of book designs that often the more interesting covers never make it onto the shelves. Some of the above are rejected covers, and are nicer than the ones that made it.

Think Jim is best known for his lovely Jules Verne covers.

More reason to pick up a book…
